Marion Winter

 


Marion was born in Dresden / Germany and has lived on the Gold Coast since arriving in Australia in 1988. In 1996 she started lessons in oil painting, concentrating on miniatures and entered her first Art Exhibition & Competition in Coffs Harbour in 1997, where she received a “Highly Commended”. She studied with John Sindelar, Robert Wade, John Lovett and Robert Hagan. Her miniature “Scotney Castle” was pictured in the “Australian Artist” magazine in November 1997. Marion is using oils for her large works and miniatures. She was a member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art in Queensland since April 1997 to December 2002, and served as Secretary, President and Exhibition Manager for more than 5 years. She also organized a tour of contemporary Australian miniatures through Germany in 2001. She is a member of several organisations which concentrate on promoting miniature art and the staging of exhibitions:
